An act to amend

Section of the Business and Professions Code, relating to healing arts. healing arts Physician assistants. Existing law, the Physician Assistant Practice Act, establishes the Physician Assistant Board to license and regulate physician assistants. Existing law authorizes the board to convene from time to time as deemed necessary by the board. Existing law further requires the board to receive permission of the Director of Consumer Affairs to meet more than times annually, and requires the director to approve meetings that are necessary for the board to fulfill its legal responsibilities.

This bill would delete the provision requiring the board to receive permission from the director to meet more than times annually and for the director to approve meetings. MAJORITY NO YES NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 3508. (

a) The board may convene from time to time as deemed necessary by the board. (

b) Notice of each meeting of the board shall be given at least two weeks in advance to those persons and organizations who express an interest in receiving notification. (c)<xhtml:span class="EnSpace"/>The board shall receive permission of the director to meet more than six times annually. The director shall approve meetings that are necessary for the board to fulfill its legal responsibilities.</xhtml:p>"?>
