Davidson Courthouse 1225 Fallon Street Oakland, CA 94612 SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA, COUNTY OF ALAMEDA GENERAL DIRECTIVE BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE DIRECTIVE NO: 2026-03B SUBJECT: WEAPONS SECURITY AND HEALTH SCREENING 1. Entry Directives Pursuant to the general authority conferred upon the Court under Code of Civil Procedure sections 128 and 187, persons entering any location of the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda in which a weapons-screening station is in use must enter through one of the secmity check points.

Such persons may be required to pass through the weapons screening station and/or submit to a search of their person and belongings. Persons entering any court location in which a weapons-screening station is not in use are subject to a search of their person and belongings for concealed weapons and/or soft body armor. 2. Prohibition of Entry Any person refusing to pass through a weapons-screening station, refusing to submit to a search of their person and belongings, or refusing to comply with public health and safety requirements will be denied entry into the building, except for the following: A.

Elected public officers (but not their deputies or assistants) under

Article 6,

Section 16 [ a judge of a court of record] or

Article 11

Section 1 [ an elected county sheriff, an elected dishict attorney, an elected assessor, and an elected governing body] of the Constitution of California; B. Deputies or assistants of elected office holders, appointed office holders, or employees of the County or Court who display an employment identification card that is approved by the Alameda County Sheriff and acknowledged by Alameda County Sheriff's Office staff at the weapons-screening station;

C. Persons issued proximity cards by the Court, the General Services Agency , and/or the County of Alameda who enter the court by separate entrance controlled by proximity cards; and D. Any attorney who has been issued an Attorney Secmity Pass by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. 4. Prohibition of Armed/ Armored Entry Except for peace officers who are at a courthouse on official court business (as defined below) and for judges who possess a permit to carry a concealed firearm, any person in possession of any weapon described in

Section 171 b of the California Penal Code, or any person in possession of any object reasonably deemed capable of being used as a deadly or dangerous weapon by the Alameda County Sheriff, will be denied entry into the building. Any peace officer who is not on official court business, as defined above, must smTender any weapons or return without them and may reclaim any surrendered weapons upon exit from the courthouse. Except for peace officers authorized by the Alameda County Sheriffs Office, any person wearing soft body armor will also be denied ently into the building. "Official Court business" means specifically: (

a) Deputies and employees of the Alameda County Sheriffs Office, and any officer or deputy of a law enforcement agency at the request of the Alameda County Sheriffs Office to provide mutual aid and/or assist with security; (

b) Other peace officers at the courthouse to testify in a case or to meet with employees of the District Attorney's Office in their official capacity, to obtain or file a paper warrant, or to make a criminal arrest pursuant to a warrant; or (

c) Alameda County district attorney inspectors. 5. Other Prohibited Items Except as otherwise provided herein, all persons are prohibited from entering a courthouse or facility with any item on the Court's Prohibited Items list, attached, and incorporated herein by this reference as it may be amended. 6. Operational Control All weapons-screening stations operations shall be under the direction of the Alameda County Sheriff.

7. Public Health and Safety Requirements Persons who feel they are expeliencing symptoms related to COVID-19 infection or other similar health issues are strongly discouraged from enteling a comthouse . Such persons are also encouraged to wear a mask while in any courthouse. This

PROHIBITED ITEMSPROHIBITED ITEMS To ensure the safety of all who enter the courthouse, the following items are not permitted inside the building: NONO • Aerosols - unless required for medical purpose • Alcohol or Marijuana • Ammunition • Animals (except service animals) • Any Device Capable of Emitting Smoke or Vapor • Any Item that Can Be Used As a Weapon as Determined by Sheriff’s Office. • Any Property That Cannot Be Safely Screened • Bats and Other Sporting Equipment • Body Armor • Bicycles, Bike Locks • Bladed or Sharp Instruments • Breakable Containers (including ceramic and glass) • Firearms and Replica Firearms • Flammable or Chemical Sprays • Graffiti Tools and Marking Pens • Handcuffs and/or Handcuff Keys • Hazardous Biological or Chemical Liquids or Materials • Illegal Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia • Knives • Laser Pointers • Lighters/Matches/Fire Starters • Needles/Syringes or Other Similar Objects (unless required for medical purpose • Pepper Spray • Projectile Weapons • Stun Guns • Tasers • Tear Gas
