MAIN ST., EL CAJON, CA SOUTH COUNTY DIVISION, 500 RD AVE., CHULA VISTA, CA COURTESY STOP NOTICE  Purpose - The Department of Motor Vehicles is looking for two orders from the court to stop the registration of a vehicle. • First is the restraining order to stop them from transferring title on the vehicle. • Second is a judgment from the court determining the proper owner of the vehicle.  Fees – A filing fee is required and will be determined based on the value of the vehicle. Refer to the most current revision of the Fee

Make check payable to the SAN DIEGO SUPERIOR COURT DOCUMENTS NEEDED MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Civil Case Cover Sheet (Judicial Council form CM-010) • Complaint or Petition Requesting Preliminary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order * • Summons, if applicable (Judicial Council form SUM-100) • Proposed Order Granting Preliminary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order * (This is for the Judge to sign if your application is granted) • Declaration in Support of Request for Preliminary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order * • Statement of Facts * • Order to Show Cause * * Court generated forms are not available.

These should be filed on pleading paper.  Defendants – Named defendants must include “Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles.” In addition, other interested parties may be named as defendants.  Service – All documents filed with the Court must be served upon all named defendants including the Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Proof of service must be filed with the Court. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or other means to return copies.
