STATE OF FLORIDA OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 26-104 (Amendment of Executive Order 20-140 and Extension of State Attorney Executive Assignment) WHEREAS, the Honorable BRAD MCVAY, Statewide Prosecutor in the Office of the Attorney General, was previously assigned by Executive Order 20-140, as extended by Executive Orders 21-113, 22-138, 23-114, 24-112, and 25-111, to represent the State of Florida concerning an investigation of Devante Brown and Johnny Ordaz; and WHEREAS , the Assigned Statewide Prosecutor has advised me that Johnny Ordaz was found not guilty of the related charges, therefore, the duties assigned as it relates to Johnny Ordaz were completed; and WHEREAS, the Assigned Statewide Prosecutor has advised me that the duties required under the previous executive assignment, concerning the investigation of Devante Brown, have not yet been completed as the case is still pending; and WHEREAS, the Assigned Statewide Prosecutor has further advised me that an extension of this assignment is necessary in order to complete the assigned duties; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the State of Florida and of the ends of justice that the assignment of the Assigned Statewide Prosecutor be continued with respect to the above matters, pursuant to

section 27 .14, Florida Statutes. NOW, THEREFORE, I, RON DESANTIS, Governor of Florida, in obedience to my solemn constitutional duty to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed," and pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of Florida, issue the following Executive Order:

Section 1. Executive Order 20-140, as extended by Executive Orders 21-113, 22-138, 23-114, 24-112, and 25-111, is hereby amended to remove Johnny Ordaz from this assignment.

Section 2. Except as amended herein, Executive Order 20-140, as extended by Executive Orders 21-113, 22-138, 23-114, 24-112, and 25-111, is ratified and reaffirmed, and the executive assignment is extended for an additional period of one (1) year from the date of the expiration of Executive Order 20-140, as extended by Executive Orders 21-113, 22-138, 23-114, 24-112, and 25-111, to and including June 15,

Section 3. The Assigned Statewide Prosecutor shall notify me on or before May 15, 2027, if additional time is required.
