STATE OF FLORIDA OFFICE OF THE·GOVERNOR EXECUTIVE, ORDER NUMBER 26-117. (Emergency Management - Amendment of Executive Order 26-33 -' Impacts of Winter Weather, Droughts, Wildfire Risks, and New World Screwworm) WHEREAS, on February 9, 2026, I issued Executive Order 26-33, declaring a major state of emergency in all sixty-seven counties in response to events impacting Florida's agricultural industry; and WHEREAS, on June 8, 2026, I issued Executive Order 26'-114 to extend Executive Order 26-33; and WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture has confirmed the presence of New World Screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) in Texas and New Mexico; and WHEREAS, the presence ofNew World Screwworm in the United States has the potential to significantly impact Florida's agricultural industry; and WHEREAS, as Florida is continuing to recover from other events impacting the industry, immediate action is necessary to limit the impact resulting from New World Screwworm; and WHEREAS, as Governor of Florida, I ani responsible to meet the dangers presented to the State of Florida ~d its people by this emergency.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RON DESANTIS, as Governor of Florida, by virtue of the authority vested in me by

Article IV,

Section l(

a) of the Florida Constitution and by the Florida Emergency Management Act, as amended, and all other applicable laws, promulgate the following Executive Order, to take immediate effect:

Section 1. Executive Order 26-33 is hereby amended to add the presence of New World Screwworm to the conditions underlying the emergency. 1

Section 2. Except as amended herein, Executive Order 26-33, extended by Executive Order 26-114, is ratified and reaffirmed.

Section 3. This Executive Order is effective immediately and shall expire upon expiration of Executive Order Number 26-114 unless extended.
