STATE OF FLORIDA OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 26-97 (Emergency Management - Extension of Executive Order 24-156 - Hurricane Debby) WHEREAS, on August 1, 2024, I issued Executive Order 24-156, declaring a state of emergency for fifty-four counties due to the severe weather, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, river flooding, coastal flooding, erosion and gusty winds caused by Invest 97L; and WHEREAS, on August 2, 2024, I issued Executive Order 24-157, which amended Executive Order 24-156, to reclassify Invest 97L as Tropical Cyclone Four and declare a state of emergency for sixty-one counties; and WHEREAS, on August 7, 2024, I issued Executive Order 24-158, which amended Executive Order 24-156, to reclassify Tropical Cyclone Four as Hurricane Debby and declare a state of emergency for thirty-seven counties; and WHEREAS, the affected areas are still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Debby; and WHEREAS, Executive Order 24-156, as amended and subsequently extended by Executive Order 26-59, expires on May 5, 2026, unless extended; and WHEREAS, an extension of Executive Order 24-156 is necessary because recovery efforts and those affected by this disaster require the continued support of the State of Florida.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RON DESANTIS, as Governor of Florida, by virtue of the authority vested in me by

Article IV,

Section l(

a) of the Florida Constitution and by the Florida Emergency Management Act, as amended, and all other applicable laws, promulgate the following Executive Order to take immediate effect: 1

Section 1. The state of emergency and all provisions of Executive Order 24-156, as amended, are renewed for sixty (60) days following the date of this Executive Order.

Section 2. Executive Order 24-156, as amended, is ratified and reaffirmed.
