An act relating to independent special fire control 2 districts; amending s. 191.006, F.S.; requiring an 3 independent special fire control district to have, and 4 authorizing the board of such district to exercise, 5 specified powers and duties; providing an effective 6 date. 7 8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 10

Section 1. Subsection (13) of

section 191.006, Florida 11 Statutes, is amended to read: 12 191.006 General powers.—The district shall have, and the 13 board may exercise by majority vote, the following powers: 14

(13) To cooperate or contract with other persons or 15 entities, including other governmental agencies, as necessary, 16 convenient, incidental, or proper in connection with providing 17 effective mutual aid and furthering any power, duty, or purpose 18 authorized by this act. The district shall have, and the board 19 may exercise, all powers and duties provided in

chapter 189, 20 this chapter, and s. 163.01, including the exercise of such 21 powers within or without the district’s boundary in cooperation 22 with another governmental agency when such agency shares such 23 powers in common with the district. 24

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020. 25
