An act relating to reapportionment; providing a

short title; creating s. 11.032, F.S.; providing that congressional and state legislative district boundaries may be drawn only in the second year after the most recent federal decennial statewide census, 6 during an extraordinary apportionment session or judicial reapportionment session, or according to federal law or court order; providing an effective date. 10

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

Section 1. This act may be cited as the “Voter Protection in Redistricting Act.” 15

Section 11.032, Florida Statutes, is created to read: 17 11.032 Reapportionment.—Congressional district boundaries and state legislative district boundaries may be drawn only in the second year after the most recent federal decennial statewide census, during an extraordinary apportionment session or judicial reapportionment in accordance with s. 16, Art. III of the State Constitution, or according to federal law or court order. 24

Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026. 25
