An act relating to the Reemployment Assistance Claims and Benefits Information System; amending s. 443.1113, 3 F.S.; requiring, by a specified date, that the system allow claimants to use a mobile device to take certain actions and obtain specified information; providing an effective date. 7

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

Section 1. Paragraph

(

h) is added to subsection (1) of

section 443.1113, Florida Statutes, to read: 12 443.1113 Reemployment Assistance Claims and Benefits Information System.— 14

(1) The Department of Economic Opportunity shall implement an integrated, modular system hosted in a cloud computing service, as defined in s. 282.0041, that provides for rapid provisioning of additional data processing when necessary. The system must support the efficient distribution of benefits and the effective operation and management of the reemployment assistance program. The system may be cited as the “Reemployment Assistance Claims and Benefits Information System” and must: 22

h) No later than the end of fiscal year 2024-2025, allow claimants to use their mobile devices to: 24 1. File reemployment assistance claims; 25 2. View all claim information in one convenient place, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; 27 3. Choose to receive notifications from the department electronically or by United States mail; 31 5. Establish or cancel payments by debit card or direct deposit; 33 6.

Create or change personal identification numbers; 34 7. Get claim and payment information, request benefits, and print tax forms; and 36 8. Submit work search contacts. 37

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 38
