Section 1004.031, Florida Statutes, is created 11 to read: 12 1004.031 College application requirements.— 13

(1) Definitions.—As used in this section, the term: 14 (a) “College application” means the process by which a 15 prospective student gains admission to an institution of higher 16 education. 17 (b) “Institution of higher education” means a Florida 18 College System institution or a state university. 19

(2) An institution of higher education may not inquire 20 about a prospective student’s race or ethnicity in his or her 21 college application. 22

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 23
