An act relating to the powers of land authorities; 2 amending s. 380.0666, F.S.; authorizing land authorities to assist the counties in which they are located with certain activities addressing flooding and sea-level rise; providing an effective date. 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Paragraph

(

c) is added to subsection (3) of

section 380.0666, Florida Statutes, to read: 11 380.0666 Powers of land authority.—The land authority shall have all the powers necessary or convenient to carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of this act, including the following powers, which are in addition to all other powers granted by other provisions of this act: 16 (3) 17

(

c) To assist the county in which it is located in the administration of state and federal grants awarded to the county for residential flood and sea-level rise mitigation projects, 20 including grants for the elevation of structures above minimum flood elevations; the demolition and reconstruction of structures above minimum flood elevations; and the acquisition of land with structures at risk of flooding. 24

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 25
