An act relating to residential tenancies; amending s. 2 83.67, F.S.; prohibiting a landlord from refusing to 3 enter into a rental agreement with a prospective 4 tenant under certain circumstances related to COVID-5 19; providing an effective date. 6 7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8 9

Section 1. Present subsections (6), (7), and (8) of

section 10 83.67, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as subsections (7), 11 (8), and (9), respectively, and a new subsection (6) is added to 12 that section, to read: 13 83.67 Prohibited practices.— 14

(6) A landlord may not refuse to enter into a rental 15 agreement with a prospective tenant if such refusal is solely 16 based upon the tenant being previously evicted during a period 17 when a public health emergency related to COVID-19 existed, as 18 determined by the United States Secretary of Health and Human 19 Services. 20

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 21
