[ 2 ] An order of placement at the petitioner-adopter’s home with a view to adoption was rendered by Justice Mario Gervais, on December 9 th , 2015. [ 3 ] The petitioner-adopter is the partner of the child’s mother Mrs.

B . [ 4 ] The special consent to adopt the child has been validly given, conforming to the provisions of the Quebec Civil Code and it has been more than thirty (30) days since it was signed. [ 5 ] CONSIDERING the time that the child has lived with the petitioner-adopter prior to this Order; [ 6 ] CONSIDERING that the petitioner-adopter has more than eighteen years of age difference with the child;

[ 7 ] CONSIDERING the testimony of the petitioner-adopter stating his deep desire to adopt the child; [ 8 ] CONSIDERING that the conditions for the adoption of the child by the petitioner-adopter have been duly fulfilled; [ 9 ] CONSIDERING the interests of the child and the respect of his rights; FOR THESE REASONS, THE COURT: [ 10 ] GRANTS the motion for adoption; [ 11 ] REDUCES from six months to three months, the delay of placement according to

section 566 of the Quebec Civil Code ; [ 12 ] PRONOUNCES the adoption of the child X born on […], 2004 in favour of the petitioner-adopter Mr. A ; [ 13 ] ATTRIBUTES to the child the surname and name of X ; [ 14 ] ORDERS the Clerk of the Court to give notice of the judgment to the Registrar of Civil Status and to provide the latter with all information enabling him to establish a new birth certificate in conformity to

section 129 of the Quebec Civil Code ; [ 15 ] ORDERS the Registrar of Civil Status to comply with the requirements of the law; [ 16 ] ORDERS the Clerk of the Court to provide the petitioner-adopter’s lawyer with a complete copy of the judgment; [ 17 ] ORDERS the Clerk of the Court to give to the petitioner-adopter and the defendant their respective original documents and ORDERS that the Court keep a certified copy in the legal file .
