In the case of : X ([…], 2005) JUDGMENT ON A MOTION FOR REVISION (Sec. 95(1) Youth Protection Act) [ 1 ] The Director of Youth Protection A seeks the revision of the order made by this Court on June 8, 2010 by which the child X was placed in a foster family for a prolonged period of six months with progressive reinsertion if the situation permits it. [ 2 ] The father has been detained until December 26, 2010. [ 3 ] The mother has been detained from October 23, 2010, after being arrested for impaired driving, until January 17, 2011.

She tragically died from smoke intoxication due to the fire of her apartment on January 19, 2011. The parents had been drinking at home and the father was highly intoxicated upon the police arrival. [ 4 ] The father has alcohol and violence related issues and he did not seek support for these issues while in detention.

But he is starting to collaborate with the Youth Protection Services and he is now seeking help. [ 5 ] The child is adapting well to the placement and is evolving positively in the foster home. [ 6 ] In the coming months, the father's involvement in his children's life will determine their situation. He will have to take an active

part in the follow-up. [ 7 ] FOR THESE REASONS, THE COURT : [ 8 ] GRANTS the motion for revision; [ 9 ] DECLARES that the security and development of the child X are still endangered; [ 10 ] ORDERS that the child be entrusted to a foster family for a period of six months with progressive reintegration with the father if the situation permits; [ 11 ] ORDERS that aid, counsel and assistance be provided to the child and her father for a period of six months; [ 12 ] ORDERS that the child receive the health services be needs; [ 13 ] ORDERS the father to take an active

part in the application of the measures; [ 14 ] ORDERS the father to seek help for his alcohol problem;

[ 15 ] ORDERS that the contacts between the father and the child be determined and supervised by the D.Y.P.; [ 16 ] ENTRUSTS the situation of the child to the D.Y.P. for him to see that the measures are carried out.
