His mother has been living with the petitioner for more than 25 years. X was raised, since the age of 6 or 7, by his mother along with the petitioner. [ 2 ] The petitioner provided X with the supervision and support within the meaning of

section 559 of the Civil Code of Quebec . [ 3 ] X testified.

He wishes to be adopted by the petitioner who he considers to be the only father he ever knew. [ 4 ] The petitioner is more than eighteen years older that the full-aged person, X. [ 5 ] All the conditions for the adoption have been complied with. [ 6 ] FOR THESE MOTIVES, THE COURT: [ 7 ] GRANTS the petition; [ 8 ] PRONOUNCES the adoption of X by the petitioner; [ 9 ] ORDERS the clerk of the Court of Quebec to give notice of the judgment to the Registrar of Civil Status of the province of Quebec in order to make the proper entries in English in the registers; [ 10 ] MAINTAINS the name B and surname X, for the full-age person; [ 11 ] MAINTAINS in accordance with

section 579 of the Civil Code of Quebec the filiation between the mother Mrs B and her son Mr X; [ 12 ] ORDERS the Clerk of the Quebec Court to give notice of the present judgment to the registrar General of the province A, in order to file the relevant information in their registers; [ 13 ] ORDERS the clerk of the Court of Quebec to return to the petitioner his birth certificate, filed under P-2 after making a photocopy of the said certificate. __________________________________ NANCY McKENNA, J.C.Q.
