C.c.p.) ______________________________________________________________________ [ 1 ] GIVEN the demand for temporary confinement in an institution to undergo a psychiatric assessment, supported by a sworn statement. [ 2 ] GIVEN the demand was served on the defendant and the impleaded party, the Curateur public du Québec. [ 3 ] GIVEN the content of the psychiatric report by Dr.

Jean-François de la Sablonnière, written on April 21, 2018, which concluded that there is a need for temporary confinement for a psychiatric assessment. [ 4 ] GIVEN the defendant’s previous refusal to undergo a psychiatric assessment required by his state. [ 5 ] WHEREAS the Court, after hearing the defendant testimony and considering the psychiatric report has serious reasons to believe that the defendant presents a danger to himself due to his mental state. [ 6 ] GIVEN the urgency and necessity of abridging the time period for filing the demand.

THEREFORE, THE COURT: [ 7 ] GRANTS the demand. [ 8 ] SHORTENS the presentation delay of this demand considering the emergency of the situation. [ 9 ] ORDERS the defendant, K.

M., to undergo a psychiatric assessment the CHR du Grand-Portage of Rivière-du-Loup within 24 hours of the court order. [ 10 ] ORDERS that the defendant be placed in temporary confinement in that institution to undergo a psychiatric assessment. [ 11 ] ORDERS the director of professional services of that institution to file the report of the examination with the court within seven days of this order. [ 12 ] ORDERS in the event of the defendant fled, the peace officers to assist the plaintiff for the execution of this order.
