Third Party JUDGMENT [ 1 ] The Plaintiff is presenting a motion for preventive confinement in an institution for the Defendant’s psychiatric assessment. [ 2 ] The Defendant is a danger to himself or to others owing to his mental state.

He was ready to commit suicide when the police went in his room where a rope was tied. [ 3 ] The Defendant refused to stay in the hospital but he now agrees to submit himself to a psychiatric assessment. [ 4 ] The security and health of the Defendant requires that he be confined in the hospital and that a psychiatric assessment be made. [ 5 ] The motion is well founded and should be granted.

THEREFORE, THE COURT: [ 6 ] GRANTS the present motion; [ 7 ] ORDERS the Defendant, to submit himself to a psychiatric assessment which will be done by the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Gaspésie, Maria’s Hospital, located at 419 boulevard Perron, Maria (Quebec), G0C 1Y0; [ 8 ] ORDERS that the Defendant be temporarily confined in that institution for a psychiatric assessment; [ 9 ] ORDERS that the Director of professional services of this institution to submit to the Court of Quebec (Civil Division) the two reports constituting the psychiatric assessment within seven days of the present judgment; [ 10 ] ORDERS that this judgment order be served to all parties; [ 11 ] WITHOUT COSTS.
