[ 2 ] The child X is born on […], 2002 and the only parent declared on the birth certificate filed is the mother. [ 3 ] Since she is five days old, the applicant-adopters assume the child.
At first, the child was entrusted to them by the Director of Youth Protection, but the file was closed and the child always remains with them. On September 3, 2010, the mother signed a general consent for the adoption of the child. [ 4 ] The mother knows the applicant-adopters and contacted them occasionally over the years. [ 5 ] The applicant-adopters are married since February 19, 1988 and provide a safe, secure and caring home to the child. She is well adapted to the family and considers herself as a member of it. [ 6 ] For years, the applicant-adopters assume the care, maintenance and education of the child.
They were evaluated very positively by the social worker, Mrs [Social Worker 1].
They have all the parental skills and capacities to raise the child. [ 7 ] Considering the evidence and the period since the applicant-adopters are involved in the child's life, [ 8 ] Considering the child's best interest, [ 9 ] FOR THESE MOTIVES, THE COURT : [ 10 ] GRANTS the petition; [ 11 ] ORDERS the placement of X, born on […], 2002, with Mrs A and Mr B in a view to adopt the child; [ 12 ] ENTRUSTS the applicant-adopters with the parental authority during the placement; [ 13 ] ALLOWS the child to use the given name and surname of X during the placement; [ 14 ] REDUCES the placement period to three months; [ 15 ] ORDERS the clerk to send a copy of the judgment to the applicant-adopters. __________________________________ DENYSE LEDUC, J.C.Q.
