JL2340 [ 1 ] The Court was seized of a motion for an order to place the child X, born on […], with a view to his adoption by Mrs. A under sec. 566 and seq. of the Civil Code of Québec and articles 825 et seq. of the Code of Civil Procedure . [ 2 ] The child X was born on […], in City A and registered to the Civil Status certificate number [...].
The child has declared maternal and paternal filiation. [ 3 ] On June 11, 2020, the mother and the father signed a general consent for the child’s adoption. [ 4 ] Since July 2020, the applicant–adopter has been the foster family of the child. She assumes his care, maintenance and education.
She knows well the child, being the maternal grandmother. [ 5 ] The applicant-adopter wishes to adopt the child and wants to pass on to the Inuit culture and wants him raised in the Inuit community. [ 6 ] The Director of Youth Protection evaluated the applicant’s motivation and her milieu and he approves this project as it appears in the report filed. [ 7 ] CONSIDERING the audience; [ 8 ] CONSIDERING the child’s best interest; [ 9 ] CONSIDERING that all the provisions of the law have been complied with; THEREFORE, THE COURT: [ 10 ] GRANTS the motion;
