The following is the judgment delivered by THE COURT (Orally) [ 1 ] Michael Laurent was convicted of having produced cannabis (marihuana) ( s. 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act , S.C. 1996, c. 19 ). He was sentenced to imprisonment for two years. He filed a notice of appeal against both the conviction and the sentence. He did not articulate any grounds of appeal. [ 2 ] Mr.
Laurent did not attend for the hearing of his appeal. [ 3 ] Having examined the record, we do not grant leave to appeal the conviction on any ground that raises either a question of fact or of mixed law and fact and dismiss his appeal against conviction on any question of law since we find no discernible error that would justify appellate intervention. As for his application for leave to appeal the sentence, it too is dismissed.
