Zalmanowitz These are supplementary written reasons which supplement my oral decision on July 7, 2023 in this matter as contained in the excerpt of the trial transcript (the “Transcript”).

These supplementary written reasons are given to correct mathematical calculations of proportionate shares special or extraordinary expenses to be borne by the parties involved in this matter and to clarify the conditions which would excuse the child from enrolment in full time studies so as to qualify her eligibility for an HEA Scholarship which is available to the child as part of the scholarship program offered to children of the father by his employer.

Those corrections and clarifications are: [ 1 ] The proportionate shares for tuition and books retroactive to the academic year commencing September 2022 and ongoing shall be borne by the parties as follows: Father- 50.00% Mother- 16.66% Child- 33.34%

[ 2 ] The Mother, the Father and the child must use all reasonable efforts to obtain an HEA Scholarship for the periods commencing in September 2022 and subsequent while the child qualifies: a. as a full-time student as prescribed by the Alberta Child Support Guidelines and remains under her parents’ charge and is unable to withdraw from her parents’ charge or to obtain the necessaries of life; and b. as a full-time student as required for an HEA Scholarship. [ 3 ] Notwithstanding the foregoing, the requirement that the child qualify as a full-time student as required for an HEA Scholarship, will not apply if the child obtains and provides to the mother and the father a certificate from a registered psychologist or a psychiatrist licensed to practice under the laws of the Province of Alberta following a complete assessment, certifying that the child is unable to take the additional courses to qualify as a full-time student as required for the HEA Scholarship.

Such certificate shall include, to the extent permitted by applicable professional, standards, codes of ethics and patient confidentiality requirements, reasons for such inability and the duration of such inability. [ 4 ] Except as specifically corrected or clarified by these Supplementary Written Reasons, the provisions of the oral decision as contained in the Transcript apply.
