An Act to amend the Electricity Act, 1998 with respect to a World Trade Organization decision Loi modifiant la Loi de 1998 sur l’électricité en ce qui concerne une décision de l’Organisation mondiale du commerce The Hon. B. Chiarelli Minister of Energy L’honorable B. Chiarelli Ministre de l’Énergie Government Bill Projet de loi du gouvernement 1st Reading December 11, 2013 2nd Reading 3rd Reading Royal Assent 1re lecture 11 décembre 2013 2e lecture 3e lecture Sanction royale Printed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Imprimé par l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE Currently, section 25.35 o f the Electricity Act, 1998 permits the Minister to direct the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) to deve l- op a feed -in-tariff program. The Bill repeals subsection 25.35 (3) of the Act, which requires the Minister to issue, and the OPA to follow, directions that set out the goals relating to domestic content to be achieved during the period to be covered by the program.
