An Act respecting establish a yearly target for the patient-to-doctor ratio Loi établissant un rapport cible annuel entre patients et médecins Mr. Martiniuk M. Martiniuk Private Member’s Bill Projet de loi de député 1st Reading October 3, 2006 2n d Reading 3r d Reading Royal Assent 1 re lecture 3 octobre 2006 2 e lecture 3 e lecture Sanct ion royale Printed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Imprimé par l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE The Bill establishes an acceptable patient-to-doctor ratio fo r Ontario and a timeline for achieving that ratio. The College o f Physicians and Surgeons of Onta rio is required to calculate the ratio of family practitioners to patients in Ontario each year. This ratio is compared to the targ et ratio for that year as set ou t in the Bill. If the target ratio is not met, then all members of the Executive Council will have their salaries reduced by 10 pe r cent.
