Le projet de loi édicte la Loi de 2011 sur la sensibilisation au radon et la protection contre l’infiltration de ce gaz et modifie la Loi de 1992 sur le code du bâtiment en ce qui concerne le radon. The Act provides for the establishment of the Ontario Rado n Registry, and requires radon meas urement specialists and labo- ratories to provide the Registry with specified information. La Loi prévoit la création du Registre des concentrations de radon en Ontario et exige des sp écialistes de la mesure du rado n et des laboratoires qu’ils fassent consigner au Registre des ren- seignements précisés. The Minister is required to e ducate the public about radon, an d to encourage homeowners to m easure the radon levels in thei r homes and take remedial action, if necessary. Le ministre est tenu d’informer le public sur le radon et d’encou- rager les propriétaires de logement à mesurer la concentration de ce gaz dans leur foyer ainsi qu’à prendre des mesures correc- tives, au besoin. The Minister is also required to ensure that the radon level in every provincially owned dwelling is measured and that reme- dial action is taken, if necessary . O’Toole Private Member’s Bill Projet de loi de député 1st Reading February 25, 2013 2nd Reading 3rd Reading Royal Assent 1 re lecture 25 février 2013 2 e lecture 3 e lecture Sanction royale Printed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Imprimé par l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE The Bill allows the Minister of Education to confer an awar d known as the Twenty-First Century Skills Award to no more than one elementary school pu pil and one secondary school pupil for each school board if, in the Minister’s opinion, a re- cipient has demonstrated the following skills in relation to school work during the current school year: responsibility, or- ganization, ability to work independently, collaboration, initia- tive, self-regulation and, if th e pupil is enrolled in a French- language instructional unit, abilit y in oral French. The Ministe r can also pay a bursary to a recipient of the award out of the Min- istry’s budget. Le projet de loi permet au mini stre de l’Éducation de remettre un prix appelé Prix Compétences pour le 21 e siècle à un seul élève de l’élémentaire et à un seul élève du secondaire de cha- que conseil scolaire si, de l’avis du ministre, le lauréat a démon- tré les compétences suivantes dans le cadre de son travail sco- laire pendant l’année scolaire en cours, à savoir fiabilité, sens de l’organisation, autonomie, espr it de collaboration, sens de l’initiative et autorégulation ainsi que utilisation du français oral si l’élève est inscrit dans un module scolaire de langue française. Le ministre peut aussi octroyer une bourse au lauréat du prix, dont le montant est prélevé sur le budget du ministère. It also provides for the roll- back of above the guideline increases in rent if the landlord ceases to incur the costs that justified the increase and for the rescission of agree d increases in rent where there are no further costs incurred by the landlord for the additions provided to the tenant. Le projet de loi modifie la Loi de 1997 sur la protection des locataires en vue d’empêcher que les loyers augmentent au-delà du taux légal si un ordre d’exécution de travaux n’a pas été exé- cuté. Il prévoit également l’annulation des augmentations de loyer d’un pourcentage supérieur au taux légal si le locateu r cesse de subir les coûts qui justifiaient l’augmentation, ainsi que la révocation de conventions d’augmentation de loyer lorsque le locateur ne subit plus d’autres coûts relativement à ce qui est fourni en plus au locataire.
