Levac Projet de loi de député 1 re lecture 30 avril 2001 2 e lecture 3 e lecture Sanction royale Imprimé par l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE The Bill would create a board to examine issues regarding the collection, dissemination and safeguarding of personal information about personnel involved with the criminal justice system. The Board would be composed of representatives chosen by the Attorney General, the Solicitor General, the Minister of Corrections, the Privacy Commissioner, the Chief Justice of Ontario and various police associations. The board would be required to make recommendations to the Legislative Assembly each year. Le projet de loi crée une Commission dont le rôle est d’étu- dier les questions concernant la collecte et la diffusion des renseignements personnels sur les membres du personnel qui oeuvrent dans le système de justice criminelle, ainsi que les mesures de précaution à prendre à leur égard. La Commission se compose de représentants choisis par le procureur général, le solliciteur général, le ministre des Services correctionnels, le commissaire à la protection de la vie privée, le juge en chef de l’Ontario et diverses associations de police. La Commission doit faire des recommandations à l’Assemblée législative chaque année. Those health profession corporations are subject to special treatment in respect of owner- ship by a dentist’s or physician’s family members. The Bill amends both Acts to extend this special treatment to all regu- lated health professions. À l’heure actuelle, la Loi de 1991 sur les professions de la santé réglementées et la Loi sur les sociétés par actions autorisent les médecins et les dentistes à créer des sociétés professionnelles de la santé. Celles-ci font l’obj et d’un traitement particulier à l’égard du droit de propriété de s membres de la famille d’un médecin ou d’un dentiste. Le projet de loi modifie les deux lois pour étendre ce traitement particulier à toutes les professions de la santé réglementées. Here are some highlights of the Act. Le projet de loi édicte la Loi de 2011 sur les grands jurys , dont voici les faits saillants. Judges of the Superior Court of Justice are required to convene grand juries in every county and district. Grand juries serve one-year terms. Les juges de la Cour supérieure de l’Ontario sont tenus de convoquer, dans chaque comté et district, un grand jury qui remplit un mandat d’un an. The seven members of each grand jury are selected from the jury roll in accordance with the Juries Act . Members may be excused from jury duty on grounds of illness and hardship. Members may also be excluded fro m jury duty if their service would or could present a conflict of interest. Les sept membres du grand jury sont choisis parmi les personnes qui figurent sur la liste des jurés conformément à la Loi sur les jurys. Ils peuvent être excusés de leurs fonctions de juré pou r cause de maladie ou de préjudice ainsi qu’être récusés de leurs fonctions de juré si celles-ci so nt ou peuvent entrer en conflit avec leurs autres intérêts. Grand juries may review the activities of public institutions specified in subsection 3 (1) of the Act. A review is limited to activities within a gra nd jury’s county or district. Grand juries may solicit suggestions from the public about which institutions to review.
